Talent, vision, and creativity have one synonym- Visual arts! The genre of art mainly focuses on the creation of works like painting, photography, printmaking, etc., basically which are visual in nature. But one should not confuse the term with plastic arts as the later deals with the formation of 3-D objects such as sculptures. Both the terms stand miles apart from each other as far as their meanings are concerned but have one thing in common-creativity!
But the term 'art' in itself is equipped with millions of small genres, and that is why it becomes extremely difficult to differentiate one term from the other. Visual arts deals with forms like: Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Photography, Film making, Computer art, etc. According to a trusted definition of visual arts: 'Visual arts is the area of visual arts and design. Essentially, it is any art that you can see, excluding performance.' Here is the list of some of the most famous art movements: impressionism ( years 1874-1880), pointillism (late 1800s), art nouveau / jugendstil (years 1890-1914), expressionism (starting in early 1900), futurism (years 1909-1924), dadaism (years 1916-1922), surrealism (years 1924-1930), pop art (years 1950s), minimalism (starting in 1958) and conceptual art (began in 1960s).
