The term “industrial” comes from “industry” that means manufacturing of a good or service and is related to one or more categories. Further the word “industry” is derived from Latin industrius, "diligent, industrious". It is a broad term in itself and generally relates to a production that is done at a massive level, in order to contribute to the overall economy of a country. It is also a synonym for the secondary sector as it manufactures raw materials into goods and products.
In the overall economic system, there are four key sectors: the first one is known as the the primary sector that deals with providing raw material in market such as agricultural goods; the secondary sector deals with the manufacturing of the raw goods into products and services and the tertiary sector deals with the further distribution of these refined items in the society.
The sector includes services like medical, law, post, etc. So all the processes that come under the category of manufacturing the raw material into refined form are known as industrial processes and the goods are called industrial goods.
